Improve Your Theme Visibility in the Zid Theme Store

Learn how Theme Store filters, sorting, and listing metadata affect your theme’s visibility and discoverability.

The Zid Theme Store gives merchants multiple ways to discover themes using filters and sorting options.

As a theme partner, you do not need to update your theme code or integration. However, the information you provide in your theme listing can affect where your theme appears when merchants browse the Theme Store.

What changed in the Theme Store

Merchants can filter themes by:

  • Category

  • Preset availability

  • Price

  • Minimum rating

They can also sort themes by:

  • Newest

  • Most installed

  • Highest rated

  • Price

The default Theme Store view may also highlight themes with Featured or Recommended badges.

Note: These changes affect theme discovery only. No changes to your theme code, API integration, or theme package are required.

What affects your theme's visibility

Theme Store filters use information configured for your theme and its presets.

Make sure the following information is accurate and up to date.

Industries

The Industries field identifies the types of stores your theme is best suited for.

The selected industries help determine where your theme appears when merchants filter the Theme Store by category.

Select only industries that accurately represent the types of stores your theme is designed for.

In the Partner Dashboard, you can find this field under Industries — Pick the industries this theme is best suited for.

Preset category tags

Each preset can include category tags that describe the types of stores the preset is designed for. These tags are used for preset availability filtering.

Adding relevant presets for different categories can increase your theme's coverage when merchants search for themes suitable for specific businesses.

Make sure each preset is tagged only with categories that accurately match its design and purpose.

Price type

Make sure your theme's price type accurately reflects its commercial model:

  • Free

  • Paid

  • Freemium

The price type is used when merchants filter or sort themes by price.

How to review your theme information

To review or update your theme listing:

  1. Go to Themes.

  2. Select the theme you want to review.

  3. Review the selected Industries and make sure they match the types of stores your theme is designed for.

  4. Review the category tags assigned to each preset.

  5. Confirm that the price type is correct.

  6. Save or submit your changes according to the standard theme update process.

Changes that require review follow the existing theme change-request process before appearing in the Theme Store.

Featured and Recommended themes

The Theme Store may highlight selected themes as Featured or Recommended in the default browsing experience.

Selection is automated and considers multiple quality and performance signals, including:

  • Merchant ratings

  • Installation trends

  • Number and diversity of approved presets

  • Theme recency

  • Partner account standing

Featured and Recommended placement cannot be purchased. Selection is based on the Theme Store's quality and performance signals.

These badges are part of the default Theme Store experience and may not appear when merchants apply filters or select another sort order.

How to improve theme discoverability

To help merchants find your theme:

  • Keep your Industries accurate and relevant.

  • Add relevant presets for the types of stores your theme supports.

  • Assign accurate category tags to each preset.

  • Keep your price type up to date.

  • Maintain a high-quality theme experience that supports positive merchant ratings.

  • Review your listing information whenever you significantly update or reposition your theme.

Accurate listing information helps the Theme Store surface your theme to merchants looking for relevant designs.

FAQ

Do I need to update my theme code?

No. Theme Store filtering and sorting do not require changes to your theme code, package, or integration. The feature uses your theme listing information and existing Theme Store performance signals.

Do I need to re-upload my theme?

No. You only need to update your theme or preset information if the existing information is incomplete or inaccurate.

What happens if my theme has no presets?

Your theme can still appear based on its theme-level information, such as Industries, price, and rating. However, it will not have preset category coverage until approved presets are available.

Can I request a Featured or Recommended badge?

No. Featured and Recommended placement is selected automatically based on the Theme Store's quality and performance signals. Placement cannot be purchased or manually requested.

Does adding more presets automatically make my theme Featured?

No. The number and diversity of approved presets are only some of the signals considered. Merchant ratings, installation trends, theme recency, and partner account standing can also influence selection.
